My hunky ENT doctor says that it's probably not ear rocks. Due to the severity of my attack, and the fact that similar things have been happening for several years, it looks to him like Meniere's Disease, a non-fatal but highly annoying pathology with no known cause or really good cure. (Though he did give me a Valium prescription. Score!)

A bit of internet research suggests that my best bet is to cut back on (or totally give up) salt, alcohol, and caffeine.

So, welcome to the rest of my life...you know, the part in which there is no joy. Whatsoever.

Well, crap. At least with the other diagnosis there was hope for a fix - rolling your head around and such. This sounds like you're perpetually dealing with this forever... that's f'd up! Big hugs to you.

Dude. That sucks. I hope they set you up with some REALLY good drugs as compensation.

Okay...I will find a field. A lovely field full of flowers. And we will go there. And I will shoot you between the eyes. Because, seriously? Without caffiene, salt, and alcohol, that's what I'd want someone to do for me.

Holy CRAP that's a raw deal!
