It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
Austin, TX; December 17, 2006: 80 degrees and sunny.
I turned the air conditioner on at one point. I believe that may be a record.
I alternate between being thrilled about weather like this - I moved here from Missouri because I abhor cold weather, remember - and worried that this is just another sign of our impending environmental collapse. So, today's theme was "angsty joy." (There's not another kind, is there?)

Actually, I've seen days like this going way back. A few years before I met you, I went skinny-dipping at Hippie Hollow in February, because it hit 90 that day.
On the other hand, we had major hurricane winds here last week that knocked out powerlines and killed 14 people. Just wind! And its 30 degrees.
